Getting started

The first transnational project meeting on 15-17 November 2018 in Leuven, Belgium, was the starting point of the work on the international project „EUFin: Innovative Integrated Tools for Financial Literacy Education across Europe“. The project was approved by the Belgian national agency EPOS in the European Union’s Erasmus + program in the key action KA2 – Strategic Partnerships for a consortium consisting of 15 different partners from 5 European countries – Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Estonia and Slovakia. Each country is represented by three participants: a university, a high school, and an organization involved in supporting financial literacy, respectively education. Slovakia´s representatives are: the University of Zilina, Business Academy, Zilina (to our great joy and honor, the possibility to represent secondary schools and Slovakia) and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zilina Regional Chamber. The coordinator of the project is the University of Leuven in Belgium. The implementation of the project will take place in the period up to August 31, 2021.

The aim of this project is to create educational material for education in the field of financial literacy at the level of higher and secondary education and the exchange of the best practices. By developing innovative materials and testing them at schools, we will provide tools to improve education in the area of  financial literacy.

The target groups of the project are students and lecturers at universities and teachers and students at secondary schools. In addition, active networking between organizations is anticipated. In this way the project will guarantee a high impact on different levels. One of the objectives of the project is also to create a web site with didactic materials for the education in financial literacy in English language and in the languages of the participating countries, thus also in Slovak language.

The implementation of the project will bring our school new opportunities for cooperation with secondary and higher education institutions in other European countries, sharing experience and implementation of the strategy of internationalization of the school
